METAMORPHOSIS
The idea of “Metamorphosis” is to reveal the interrelation between art and audience and the inevitably ensuing change—a significance analogous to the situation creator – viewer.
The emptiness in the gallery space is an illusion of Nothingness, an environment of non-being, an ether of nonexistence. Here is the location where the artistic project of social exchange between artwork and audience is realized. Here, in the ether of non-being, already transcended by our presence, the plastic image is contemplated—the inspiration for a rainbow.
Presented with minimalist perfection in the absolute abstraction of straight lines, akin to spectral colors, my rainbow also belongs to signs enduring in my imagination, still undeveloped into symbols. A frieze of boxes—reliquaries of similar homes-containers with content, equal for all of them, for all of us: an egg, as an allusion to primality, life, change.
The viewer, examining my artwork, is a significant part of it. The desired psychosomatic interpenetration in this exchange, in the acceptance or rejection of the artwork, has been realized. The viewer assumes the primary role of a creator with their engagement pro or contra or even with misunderstanding and indifference to my idea, essentially adding meaning to the artwork and its presence in the world.
